After returning home from Vietnam as an Air Force retiree, Greg Saul started a career in insurance by accident. He had responded to a Stoddard Publications advertisement thinking it was a job in advertising, but ended up selling cancer and accident policies to their subscribers.
Greg spent several years cold-calling on farmers who were Cappers Weekly and Wallace Farmer subscribers to sell the cancer, accident and major medical policies. He became a pro at field underwriting many health conditions. More often than not, the local agent who had the account could only offer health insurance to one of the spouses due to the other’s health conditions, which resulted in losing both accounts. Greg decided he could better-serve his clients’ needs by helping the local independent agent find the right health insurance for their clients. PIPAC was born. Professional Insurance Planners and Consultants (PIPAC) was founded in 1981 by Gregory A. Saul. Greg started out by himself working out of his home and over the years, the company has expanded to its present location at 1304 Technology Parkway, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
